Editing Commands
You can use the [Edit] pulldown menu to simply cut undesired parts from a waveform, or to
insert some part into a different location.
1. To select the waveform area that you want to edit, drag the mouse pointer through the
desired area. The selected area is displayed in reverse video.
2. Choose [Cut] or [Copy] from the [Edit] menu.
Cut:
Choosing [Cut] copies the selected area to the clipboard and deletes the selected area
from the window.
Copy:
Choosing [Copy] copies the selected area to the clipboard, but does not affect the selected
area in the window.
3. To set the location where the data is to be pasted, click at that location.
4. Choose [Paste] from the [Edit] menu. The data in the clipboard is pasted to the designated
location. The data that was at the insertion location moves to the right to accommodate
the new data.
£You can also paste the clipboard data to another currently activated wave file. In this case, the data in the
source file such as bit length and sampling frequency will be replaced by the one in the destination file.
£If you make a mistake while editing, you can undo the mistake. To undo the most recent editing operation,
choose [Undo] from the [Edit] menu.
Editing Effects
You can use the [Effect] menu to process the waveform itself. For example, you can reverse
the selected area of a waveform, which produces the same effect as playing a tape backwards.
You can also invert the top and bottom of a waveform.
1. Select the waveform area that you want to edit. To select the area, drag the mouse pointer
through the desired area. The selected area is displayed in reverse video.
2. Choose the desired command from the [Effect] menu.
£For details on the [Effect] menu, see page 47.
If you make a mistake while editing, you can undo the mistake. To undo the most recent
editing operation, choose [Undo] from the [Edit] menu.
