1.Lightly
grease
lipsof
rear
wheeloil
seals.
2.Makesurethebrakepads are installedproperly
andthatthere
is
enoughgaptoinstallthe
reardisc.
3. Installwheelassemblyandaxle.
NOTE: Wheninstallingtherearwheel,be
surethesplinesonthewheelhub
fit
intothe
final
gear
case.
Alwaysuse
a
newcotterpinontheaxlenut.
Torque:
Axlenut:12~18m-kg(87~130 ft-lb)
Axlepinchbolt:0.45~0.75m
-
kg (3~5 ft-lb)
5-3 BRAKES
CAUTION:Disc brake components rarely
requiredisassembly.Donotdisassemblecom-
ponentsunlessabsolutelynecessary.Ifany
hydraulic connection in the system is opened,
the entire system should be disassembled, drained,
cleanedandthen properly filled and bled upon
reassembly.
CAUTION:Donotusesolventson brake
internal components. Solvents will cause seals
toswell and distort.Useonlycleanbrake fluid
forcleaning.Usecarewithbrake fluid. Brake
fluid is injurious to eyes andwill damage painted
surfaces.
A.CaliperPadReplacement
1.
It
is
notnecessarytodisassemble
the
brake
fluidhosestoreplacethebrakepads.
2. Remove thecalipersupportbolt.
3.
RemovethePhillipsscrewthatholds
the
brakepads.
4.Pullcalipercylinderoffcaliper frame.
5.
Installnew brake pads.Replacepads
as
a
set.
Replacethe following whenpadsarereplaced:
