Setting up the speaker parameters automatically (YPAO)

Place the supplied microphone base at
the listening position you want to be
seated most frequently as follows.
Make sure that the arrow mark on the microphone
base points the center speaker or between the front
left and right speakers.

Place the optimizer microphone to the a
position on the microphone base.

After the setting is completed, press
iENTER.
This unit starts the measurements of the speaker
angles.

Repeat steps 11 and 12 for the b and c
positions on the microphone base.
The following display appears when measurement
of the angle finishes successfully.

For the accurate measurements of the speaker angles,
we strongly recommend that you use a tripod (etc.) to
affix the microphone base at the same height as your
ears would be when you are seated in your listening
position. You can use the attached screw of a tripod
(etc.) to fix the microphone base to the tripod (etc.).

Result Displays the results of automatic
acoustics measurement. Refer to
“Reviewing automatic setup parameters
(p. 47) for details.
Save/Exit SAVE Applies the result to the
speaker setup and
finishes the automatic
measurement. J1
CANCEL Returns to the previous
screen.
EXIT Finishes the automatic
measurement without
applying the result to the
speaker setup.
When the warning message appears on this display,
refer to “When an error message is displayed during
measurement” (
p. 48) for details.
Press
iRETURN to return to the previous screen.
