Refer to the chart below if this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or
if the instructions below do not help, set this unit to standby mode, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest
authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.

The power does not
turn on.
The protection circuitry has been activated
three times consecutively. If the unit is in
this condition, the power indicator on the
front panel blinks when you try to turn on
the power.
As a safety precaution, capability to turn on the power
is disabled. Contact your nearest Yamaha dealer or
service center to request repair.
The power cord is not connected or the
plug is not completely inserted.
Connect the power cord firmly.
The protection circuitry has been activated
because of a short circuit, etc.
Check that the speaker wires are not touching each
other and then turn the power of this unit back on.

The internal microcomputer has frozen,
due to an external electric shock (such as
lightning or excessive static electricity) or
to a drop in the power supply voltage.
Press A (power) on the front panel to turn off the unit
and turn it on again after at least 15 seconds elapse.
(If the problem persists, disconnect the power cable
from the AC wall outlet and plug it again.)

Select an appropriate input source with the INPUT
selector on the front panel (or one of the input
selection key on the remote control).

properly.
Turn on the corresponding SPEAKERS A or
SPEAKERS B.

Speaker connections are not secure. Secure the connections.

Output has been muted. Turn off the mute.

Headphones are connected to the
PHONES jack.
Disconnect the headphones.

The Max volume or Initial volume setting
is set too low.
Check the settings for “Max Volume” and “Initial
Volume” in the “Setup” menu.

The component corresponding to the
selected input source is turned off or is not
playing.
Turn the component on and make sure it is playing.
The audio output of a device connected to
a digital audio input (COAXIAL/
OPTICAL jacks) is set to other than PCM.
Set the audio output of the connected device to PCM.
