STEERING REMOVAL
Securely support the motorcycle so that
there is no danger of it falling over.
Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
1. Remove:
Ring nut

Use a exhaust and steering nut wrench

Exhaust and steering out wrench:

Securely support the steering shaft so that
there is no danger of it falling down.
STEERING INSPECTION
1. Wash the bearing and ball races with a sol-
vent.
2. Inspect:
Bearings
Ball races
Pitting/Damage Replace.
Bearing race replacement steps:
Remove the ball races on the head pipe using
long rod 1 and the hammer as shown.
Remove the ball race on the under bracket us-
ing the floor chisel 2 and the hammer as
shown.
Install the new dust seat and races.
Always replace bearings and races as a set.
Replace the dust seal whenever a steering
head disassembled.
If the bearing race is not fitted squarely, the
head pipe could be damaged.
