3. INITIAL menu
DEFAULT depends on the two signal types below:
1. Video signals (TV50, TV60, 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p50/60, 1080i50/60)
2. Computer signals (VGA, XGA, etc.)
See page 40 for a complete listing for the signal specifications.
ITEM SETTING FUNCTION
ASPECT DEFAULT The appropriate aspect ratio is automatically selected depending on the input signal. Select
DEFAULT for normal use.
NORMAL Select to project images with an aspect ratio of 4:3.
SQUEEZE Select to project images with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
SUBTITLE ZOOM Select to project subtitled letter box format software.
ZOOM Select to enlarge and project images of CinemaScope size or Vista size.
SMART ZOOM Select to stretch the left and right edges of a 4:3 image without altering the image center to
project a 16:9 image that fills the screen.
THROUGH Select to project images in their original size as input.
MENU POSITION 4 positions Use to change the position of the menu being displayed on the screen.
PROGRESSIVE
MODE
AUTO Detects the video and film contents and convert into opitmized progressive frames
automatically.
VIDEO Force to convert using motion-adaptive I/P conversion for video contents only.
COLOR SYSTEM 8 options
When AUTO is selected, the appropriate video format is automatically selected depending on
the input signal. If the image is not displayed correctly, select the desired video format manually.
SET UP LEVEL DEFAULT, 0%,
3.75%, 7.5%
Select the black level of the projected image. SET UP LEVEL is automatically set to 7.5%
when you select any language except (Japanese) in the LANGUAGE menu. Select
DEFAULT for normal use.
SCART INPUT ON, OFF Select ON when connecting the projector to the equipment having a SCART terminal that can
output RGB signal. SCART terminal is used mainly in Europe. Select OFF for normal use.
LANGUAGE 10 languages Use to select the language used in the menu.
RESET ALL
EXECUTE
Use to reset the settings of the menu (excluding LANGUAGE) to its factory presets. It may
take few seconds that the projector is reset to its factory presets.
