2. Install:
• brake pads
• brake pad spring

Always install new brake pads and brake pad
spring as a set.
a. Connect a suitable hose tightly to the
brake caliper bleed screw . Put the other
end of this hose into an open container.
b. Loosen the brake caliper bleed screw and,
using a finger, push the caliper piston into
the brake caliper.
c. Tighten the brake caliper bleed screw.
d. Install new brake pads and a new brake
pad spring.
3. Install:
• brake pad retaining bolt
• bolt
4. Install:
• brake caliper
• brake caliper mounting bolts
5. Check:
• brake fluid level
Refer to “CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID
LEVEL” in chapter 3.
6. Check:
• brake lever operation
Soft or spongy feeling Bleed the brake
system.
Refer to “BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC
BRAKE SYSTEM” in chapter 3.
5 Nm (0.5 m•kg, 3.7 ft•lb)

17 Nm (1.7 m•kg, 13 ft•lb)
