PREPARATION
Configuring MusicCast
■ About MusicCast
Use MusicCast to share music between MusicCast-
compatible devices in multiple rooms.
With the dedicated “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app, you
can easily enjoy music from your smartphone, a media
server (a personal computer or NAS) or Internet radio
(streaming services) wherever you are in your home.
• All MusicCast-compatible devices can be operated
from the dedicated “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app
• Multiple devices that support MusicCast in separate
rooms can be linked to play music simultaneously
• Supports music playback through Internet radio
(streaming services)
• Network settings for devices that support MusicCast

To use MusicCast, download the MusicCast Setup Guide from
the Yamaha Downloads website.

■ MusicCast CONTROLLER
To use network functionality with a device that supports
MusicCast, you need to use the “MusicCast
CONTROLLER” dedicated app for mobile devices.
Search for and install “MusicCast CONTROLLER” (free)
in the App Store or on Google Play.
■ Registering a MusicCast network
Register this unit to a MusicCast network.
At the same time, configure the network connection
settings for this unit.
Note
When connecting to a wireless network, have the SSID and the
security key for the wireless LAN router (access point) on hand.
1 Start the “MusicCast CONTROLLER” app,
and tap “SETUP”.
Note
When configuring the settings on each subsequent device that
supports MusicCast, tap “Register New Device” in the app’s
“”.
2 Following the instructions on the screen of
your mobile device, use the “MusicCast
CONTROLLER” and press the CONNECT
button on the front of this unit’s panel for five
seconds.
3 Following the instructions on the screen of
your mobile device, use the “MusicCast
CONTROLLER” to configure the network
settings.
This completes the network settings for registering the
device to the MusicCast network.
Use “MusicCast CONTROLLER” to play back music.
Note
AirPlay and DSD sound cannot be transmitted. Music can only be
played back from this unit.
