A Detune Flange
Program
For the
SPX90
By
P.J.
Otto
I have discovered a way to create flange
effects using
the
Pitch
Change
A program
( # 21) of the
SPX90.
The
difference between
this effect and regular flange
is
that
the sweep
will appear
to
rise or fall continuously,
de-
pending
on
how
the
FINE
parameter
is
set.
Also, the effect
is
retriggered by each new note.
Start with
Pitch
Change A program, and set
the values
as
follows:
PITCH: 0
FINE: 1 to 4 or - 1 to - 4
DELAY:
0.1
F.
B.
GAIN: 25% to
50%
BALANCE:
50%

An
Electric Drums
Program
For
The
SPX90
By
P.J.
Otto
With
this
patch,
you
can
use a
rhythm
machine
or
even real drums
to
simulate
the
popular sound of synthesized drums.
The
patch
uses the
PITCH
CHANGE
A program
(#21)
to drop the pitch of a percussion sound quickly.
Start
with the
Pitch
Change A program, and
enter the following values:
PITCH:
-2
FINE: 0
DELAY:
40.0
F.
B.
GAIN:
60%
BALANCE:
100%
Changing the
PITCH
to
+
2 will reverse the
direction
of
the effect.
